Sorry to pull from the dead, but in case someone still encounters it:
Had the same issue, after googling for quite a bit I found that I should turn off version control globally (Edit --> Pref --> Version Control --> General).
Also, Jetbrain has Rider, a .net IDE which is really great for professional development (and hobbyist alike).
The guys over at canonical (and fedora I guess) seems to think Wayland is ready for prime time.
Getting it to run was fairly straight forward, but it just PITA, there are a bunch of “little things” that renders it unusable.
I fired up my Android Studio and the darn thing opened enormously huge due to some double scaling issue or something, couldn’t figure it out no matter how many env vars I’ve set.
And then you have sddm hangs after logout, and a bunch of other stuff.
I’m pretty sure that the fault is on me and I’m not configuring something properly.
I wonder if I should nuke and pave my rig (XPS 13 9360) and try fresh.
I’ve installed plasma-session-wayland in hope of trying-out/switching-to wayland.
If I quit X (by stopping it from systemctl) and running startplasmacompositor plasma starts with wayland, where installing plasma-session-wayland and choosing it from lightdm gives me a blank screen with a blinking cursor that just hangs.
I’m on Plasma 5.9.4, latest QT, an Intel graphics (it’s a Dell XPS 9360).
Any help will be appreciated.
