I was able to install Antergos and Bumblebee. Everything seems to work i can log in to “gnome x-org” session but…
[[email protected] ~]$ lspci -nnk | grep -i vga -A3 | grep 'in use' Kernel driver in use: i915
It doesn’t use Nvidia GPU. When i try to run e.g steam using
[[email protected] ~]$ optirun steam /home/pele/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh: line 154: VERSION_ID: unbound variable /home/pele/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh: line 154: VERSION_ID: unbound variable Running Steam on antergos 64-bit /home/pele/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh: line 154: VERSION_ID: unbound variable STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically Pins up-to-date! Installing breakpad exception handler for appid(steam)/version(1506500000)
Output is much longer…
What am i doing wrong ? :(
Of course… I completely forgot to mention it…
[[email protected] ~]$ lspci -vnn | grep '\''[030]' 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller : Intel Corporation HD Graphics 530 [8086:191b] (rev 06) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) 01:00.0 3D controller : NVIDIA Corporation GM107M [GeForce GTX 950M] [10de:139a] (rev a2) [[email protected] ~]$
I’m new to Antergos but had some sticky moments with Nvidia using other distros.
To install Antergos i used Antergos live iso with nouveau.modeset=0 parameter.
Then I installed distro without NVIDIA drivers (Cnchi feature).
I’ve installed nvidia drivers via TTY, and simple replaced lightdm with SDDM.
It’s any problem to log in (default session) but it uses “i915 driver” (intel GPU ?) when i choose Gnome x-org session to log in it freezes (default login background).
Looking for workaround or tips how to install drivers properly :)
