you can check this post, not sure if is the same bug (you can find the way i fixed and the workaround discovered by @just):
Just did the workaround and it worked. Thank you for showing me that topic. It’s a really weird bug it seems but at least I can login normally. I hope it will get fixed soon.
I have experienced the same issue today.
I have uninstalled lightdm and installed gdm by just following the instructions at https://forum.antergos.com/topic/3082/the-login-screen-for-antergos-is-incredibly-slow/2.
I am now having problems with my mouse pointer speed which cannot be increased anymore with
xset m 3 0but I consider this a minor issue as I have a GUI now at least.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for your reply. I might just install gdm if it doesn’t get fixed soon.
Today I upgraded my system and it downloaded a lot of files including new Gnome upgrades. After I restarted my machine, on the log in screen I cannot input my password to the login box. I can click on the clock and my username but I cannot click on the password field to login.
I was able to switch to tty2, login and start a gnome session from there but I can’t login from the Ligthdm lock screen. Also I cannot turn on auto-login from gnome-settings > user tab. It just turns auto-login off by itself automatically.
I’m guessing there is a bug in lightdm. Thank you for reading. I’m waiting for your suggestions.
