Well I theoretically ‘can’, but the only change that takes effect is changing the terminal theme. Linux colors, Solarized, Black on White, etc. Still no syntax highlighting.
Again as I said, this problem is affecting terminator as well. Makes me think something is not installed, idk.
So I just freshly installed Antergos with KDE. The only real thing that’s bugging me is that colors in the terminal aren’t printing out properly.
For example, in Sabayon and Korora, I would have colored syntax in vim, and more color variation for daily tasks.
If I was to write a C file in Sabayon, the syntax would be beautifully highlighted and easier on the eyes. But in Antergos, it’s all just white with no colors.
I’ve set the TERM variable to xterm-256color, but no dice thus far. I’ve also tried Terminator, and that terminal has the same problem.
@nekosan Yeah, that’s what I’ve been looking at.
For example, as I attempt to install it from AUR, it says Pacman is not able to install some missing dependencies.
Another method, as I was following in a Youtube vid just uploaded a week ago, that doesn’t work either. With that method, you have to put the source of the download in /etc/pacman.conf. When I try to install it, it says that those don’t exist.
Just a little frustrating, luckily everything is working fine, I would just like to game.
I’ve installed a dozen programs now, through AUR, none of the same problems.
EDIT: Here’s an error from the AUR install for catalyst:
==> ERROR: ‘pacman’ failed to install missing dependencies.
==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build catalyst.
I did this in Manjaro a month ago, no problems there.
I have a fresh install of Antergos, first time. I have been trying to install the latest AMD drivers, as I am a gamer and of course the open source drivers don’t do so hot with games.
I’ve also attempted doing some of the long-winded methods to getting the AMD drivers through pacman.
Problem is, after various methods of installation and attempts, it seems that something with the Catalyst AUR is broken/gone.
Can anyone confirm if this is the case, and I’m not being an idiot?
