I just did a fresh install of antergos with gnome, I installed steam and it starts but the main window is not visible, I can see that it is running with no errors but the main window is nowhere to be found. However, when I run steam -bigpicture from the command line, the big picture starts and everything works as expected. If I exit the big picture mode back into desktop mode steam is again nowhere to be found.
I was able to replicate the same problem on another laptop but I am unable to fix it.
Got it! the gtk update broke the clipboard. For those facing the same issue, I downgraded the following packages:
- gtk3 using
pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/gtk3-3.22.12+6+g42aa4c138c-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
- webkit2gtk using
pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/webkit2gtk-2.16.1-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
- and gtk3-print-backends using
pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/gtk3-print-backends-3.22.12+6+g42aa4c138c-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
Thanks a lot guys! Tried all of that without using copy and paste ;)
I am running GNOME Shell 3.24.1 with Google Chrome stable 58.0.3029.110-1 and after the last update, copy/paste does not work between chrome based application (Chrome, Atom, Visual Studio code) and non-Chrome based applications: terminal, gedit, firefox, etc. but still works between the chrome applications mentioned above. Actually, the (gnome) clipboard is empty when I copy from Chrome/Atom/VSC.
So my questions are the following:
- is it possible to downgrade the package (from AUR)? I could not locate past versions in the tmp folder.
- is there a known fix/patch for this issue?
I was trying to re-install antergos and I seem to be having trouble : first I get the Oh no! Something has gone wrong. error
then I log in manually and try to install (any DE) I get the errno 104 connection was reset by peer or the installation gets stuck (the system monitor show no internet/cpu activity).
I’m on the 2015.01.07 iso and tried the 2015.06.03 as well for x86_64.
I tried playing around with the mirrorlist but no luck so far…
