Installed the ntfs drivers and went to add my other drives to my /etc/fstab and it fails to boot. Drops me into emergency mode to fix it. Kept giving me Dependency failed errors and checking the device, etc until I just commented out the drives.

Ok, so not sure what the ACPI error is for, but I did get into the system.
What I did was hit ‘e’ at the boot menu to edit the commandline options.
I added at the end of the linux line the following:
Booted me into a commandline. I did have to go to another console (ctrl-alt-f2) as it was giving me no login input due to something about a ssd not having write cache, etc. I can figure that out later.
I login and run the following commands.
pacman -Syy nvidia nvidia-utils nvidia-libgl
systemctl isolate emergency.target
Login as root
modprobe -r nouveau
pacman -Rccn xf86-video-nouveau
modprobe -a nvidia
systemctl isolate graphical.target
Then just rebooted the machine and it is working fine.
Just need to figure our the ACPI errors during boot and all will be good.
I got Antergos installed finally. Next up though when I go to boot it up to uninstall nouveau and get the nvidia dirvers I get the following and then it goes to some text with Antergos and all the text is dashed and dotted.
0.01600 ACPI Error: [_SB_.PCI0.XHC_.RHHUB.HS11] Namespace lookup failure, E_NOT_FOUND (20160930/dswload-210
0.016664] ACPI Exception: AE_NOT_FOUND, During name lookup/catalog (2016093psobject-227)
I can’t read the next line has it’s started to become dashed and dotted with green lines through it.
Is this because I used the nvidia unofficial ISO? I don’t recall this happening with that ISO last time I successfully installed Antergos.
Ok, I get back into the cnchi installer, this time however, it keeps giving me a cannot download metadata package list error (577339).
Happens with any options I select on the package selection list. Weird as it never gave this to me last time I installed Antergos about a 6 months ago with the same nvidia ISO.
EDIT: Ok, this time I deselected everything except AUR and extra fonts and get the same error but with code 577346.
So I’m trying to get Antergos installed and I’ve read this wiki about installing with a newer GPU
nstalling-antergos-with-a-newer-nvidia-gpu – won’t let me post the link as it thinks it’s spam…
Downloaded the nvidia iso that the user made in that wiki page. Booted it and got inside the live environment. Cnchi goes through the installer and errors out and never actually installs. Gave me an error: 567XXX or something.
Thought it was a bad USB I made, so I remade it and this time using the same ISO cnchi won’t even get past the “Choose your language” screen.
So I download the official ISO (the minimal one) and at the boot screen (black screen with options)
Selected the "Antergox x86_64 option (first one) and hit “E”. Typed nomodeset at the end of the line, nothing. Still get the EE errors.
Nothing I try is able to get me anywhere close to installing it. The only thing that got me close was the nvidia iso, but it’s causing the installer to freeze and just stop working, etc.
Anyone care to help me out with this please. Have been trying to get this installed for 4 hours now -_-.
I will be the only user. But is there really a way to get say wine and playonlinux to use a dedicated SSD over just going inside my /home partition and such?
If I do that though, I’m going to have a pretty big / partition. Probably the biggest in the world LOL. 256gb samsung 950 pro.
Planning on going back to Arch/Antergos full time and just had a quick question.
I have 4 SSDs in my system plus a M2 SSD. I plan on installing Antergos to the M2 SSD but the other 4 SSDs I have I want to have one for media, games, etc. What would be the best way of achieving this? Should I just put everything on the M2 SSD and then have my /home on one of the 500gb SSDs? But what about the others? Just create directories on them and symlink it to my /home or / partitions as needed?
What’s the best way of getting these SSDs to be used as program storage and what not? Games, VMs, etc.
