• Failed to find module 'vfs_monitor'

What is the vfs_monitor? I can’t find any results from Google.

  • what gives you:
    pacman -Qs gvfs ?

  • i have just see this inside my journal:

systemd[703]: Starting Virtual filesystem service - Media Transfer Protocol monitor...
    dbus-daemon[726]: [session uid=1000 pid=726] Successfully activated service 'org.gtk.vfs.MTPVolumeMonitor'
systemd[703]: Started Virtual filesystem service - Media Transfer Protocol monitor.

looks very related to what this should be…

  • Maybe some .conf file in /usr/lib/modules-load.d has some extra info?

    try installing: gvfs-gphoto2 gvfs-smb gvfs-goa gvfs-google

    as they are not installed

  • sudo journalctl -u systemd-modules-load.service

systemd-modules-load[427]: Failed to find module 'vfs_monitor’

    shows nothing more info ;)

    locate vfs_monitor

    finds something

  • @joekamprad What does it mean? Is there any way to fix it?

  • i miss the “?”

    locate vfs_monitor
    finds something ?

but i was wondering, as systemd-modules-load is for loading kernel modules at boot…

so it should be a outdated entry in one of this directories:

    /etc/modules-load.d/

    /usr/lib/modules-load.d/

    to see them:

    ls /etc/modules-load.d/

    ls /usr/lib/modules-load.d/

  • @joekamprad
    It’s in

    /usr/lib/modules-load.d/anything.conf

  • @s9209122222 said in Failed to find module 'vfs_monitor':

    /usr/lib/modules-load.d/anything.conf

what package is installing this file?

    pacman -Qo /usr/lib/modules-load.d/anything.conf

  • @joekamprad

    /usr/lib/modules-load.d/anything.conf is owned by deepin-anything 0.0.1-1

  • @s9209122222 said in Failed to find module 'vfs_monitor':

    deepin-anything

    https://github.com/linuxdeepin/deepin-anything

i do not understand what it is for ;)

may you srew up something and a reinstal solve the error, or package itself is somhow broken or incomplete.

  • I just had this error.

    Install the linux-headers packages

    sudo pacman -Syu linux-headers

It should re-run the dkms hook for the deepin-anyhting package and the vfs_module should load properly now, if not, try reinstalling the deepin-anything package.
