• \[solved\] iso 8859-1 boot error in live usb

this is a problem i keep encountering, when i try to boot the iso i get an error about iso 8859-1 and the boot stops there.

now i found that this was a problem on arch’s side as i also got this on both the arch 01.05.2014 and 01.06.2014 iso’s and i found a bug report on it: [https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/40217][0]">[https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/40217][1]

the problem is gone in arch iso 03.07.2014 but still exists in antergos iso 06.24.2014
according to the bug report it has something to do with mkinitcpio.

  • It looks like some users are still reporting this issue. I already applied the first change that was made and will keep monitoring it for a permanent fix. I’m not building a set of new images until the KDE issue is fixed though it shouldnt be too long.
