• Problems with /usr/lib32/libwayland-egl.so

    Hi,
just tried to update system, but there were errors with /usr/lib32/libwayland-egl.so and update failed.
The errors were related to already existing files:

    /usr/lib32/libwayland-egl.so
    /usr/lib32/libwayland-egl.so.1
    /usr/lib32/libwayland-egl.so.1.0.0
    /usr/lib32/pkgconfig/wayland-egl.pc

I simply removed those files and directly updated again, no errors anymore.
So this seems to work around the real problem, whatever it is.

  • Let’s see when Arch people notice the same issue, and how they solve it. :)

If you remove the files, I also remove wine and it is no longer possible to reinstall wine

  • @michyya removing files not uninstalling lib32-wayland package !

  • As i read at archf:

libwayland-egl .so was moved to wayland package from mesa, and apparently lib32-mesa haven’t been fixed to reflect this change.

  • @joekamprad said in Problems with /usr/lib32/libwayland-egl.so:

lib32-mesa arrived yesterday, so everything is back on track.

  • I moved the files to /tmp/, to see if the update would complete.
    It didn’t complete.
I kept the files on a temporary directory, and rebooted to see if that’s the problem.
Now, I get a black screen when I boot.

I edited the boot command, to go in a non-graphical terminal. I copied the files back, but I still get a black screen when I boot normally.
Any idea how to revert this?

( pacman update always gives the error message about the files owned etc, regardless if those files exist or not!! )

  • I removed the files and just used pacman to re-install lib32-mesa and lib32-wayland.
that seemed to work, and I can log into i3 again now.
I still get the error message when trying to update though.

  • @antouank
Could you show the exact error output here?

  • And including the actual command…
