• Manjaro user jumping to Antergos

    Hi guys

I’ve been using Antergos for a couple of months now and I have to say that I for one is a very satisfied “customer” I have a computer with Manjaro also though. As I hang out over at Manjaro forum I’ve seen more and more users there jumping over to Antergos but we still hang out at Manjaro. The reason for that is simple, it’s more “life” there. I asked som of those users to start posting here instead and hopefully the community here will also be a more lively place and grow further. At least that’s my hope. IMHO this wonderful distro deserves a larger user base and a more lively forum

    Regards
    PJ

  • Well, let me be the first to welcome you to Antergos

    Cheers!

  • im a manjaro jumper too

  • Hey, small world, LOL. Yep, I’ve just recently moved from Manjaro to Antergos. Manjaro is great for getting your feet wet with “Arch” but there comes a time when you need to go with something that’s a bit more Arch. I have no foggy clue why the Arch folks can include a nice GUI installer like Antergos/Manjaro has, guess it’s just their loss since more folks will move to Distros like Antergos and Manjaro because of the ease of install in order to get their Arch on.

No Matter where ya' go, there ya' are.

  • hey tn.frank

    that avatar looks familiar

  • I too am playing with antergos from Manjaro, actually I am a ubuntu user at heart and want to break free from that.
Not too sure if pure arch is right for me as I am afraid of breakages, at least with ubuntu I can stick to LTS for stability so I am not entirely sold on rolling.
There are benefits and drawbacks to both

  • I have been running this install since May and, after doing daily updates, there have been no major issues.

  • ive been on Antergos a few months now and no problems. im not really sure how much safer Manjaro’s system of holding packages is. i used manjaro for over a year and had 2 major crashes where i had to reinstall the OS. guess ill see how it is closer to arch now.

ubuntu and debian are pretty stable in my years of using them but sometimes you have to wait a long time for newer packages.

  • ALL your avis look familiar!! lolssss
