Don’t know where to post this, so i’ll post it here. On the antergos repository, it has vivaldi 1.14. However, vivaldi 1.15 has been out for a couple of weeks. Any chances of updating the vivaldi package on the antergos repository to the latest version?
Outdated Vivaldi Package on Antergos Repository
https://build.antergos.com/package/vivaldi new version is not at the queue ?
I have done a pull request and its merged already:
Something is gone wrong …
I reopen a report here:
If you want to help try my testing version of vivaldi fro here:
sudo pacman -U vivaldi-1.15.1147.36-3-x86_64.pkg.tar
Can we perhaps have a central topic where we can notify about outdated packages? Also Etcher has been outdated for some time again. The community can help!
Therefore we have issue reporting on GitHub:
Now 1.15 is available, just installed it.
But another concern is that Vivaldi’s Chrome base is quite old, several updates behind the latest stable Chrome.
I don’t know about Vivaldi’s security practices, but that doesn’t look very good. Does anyone know about it?
A tool for sending logs: https://forum.antergos.com/topic/10586/eat-logs
Install eat: wget -q https://github.com/manuel-192/eat/raw/master/PKGBUILD && makepkg -sic
@manuel That was also my conclusion, because they are slow with updates. So therefore I dumped it and went back to Firefox as a second browser, next to my main Waterfox.
@manuel chromium base not chrome
And Vivaldi development is not following chrome/chromium Browser release cycle.
Vivaldi is build on the base of chromium source with Version 65 and latest is 66 now…
At Vivaldi the call it "chromium Backend"
so it is not a chromium browser with another chassis it is a browser using chromium as a Backend.
