• Cnchi still has a problem

Installing with the latest Antergos ISO still has a problem: cnchi will not update itself in the beginning, and the install fails (tested with the base install).

Fortunately there is a workaround: manually update cnchi:

    su
    pacman -S cnchi

    and run cnchi again.

  • Are @developers already fixing this?

This is a real problem for many newcomers who are afraid of asking instructions in the forum. We advertise Antergos as focused on being easy to use.

I know fixing bugs is not easy. Sometimes when fixing one bug you actually create two new bugs somewhere else… ;)

  • @joekamprad
    Thanks! :)

  • but i think this is related to the buildserver problem…

  • Hi,

It’s odd. I’ve just retried now and it’s working fine here. Maybe @lots.0.logs has fixed it?

@joekamprad @manuel could you confirm that this antergos.db problem is still happening to you?

    Thanks!

  • @karasu

Now cnchi updates itself in the beginning, check.
    No more antergos.db problem, check.

Starting to install Base as last time. May take some time, I’ll report later.

    Cheers! :)

  • downloading antergos.db...

    successfull

    but i got:

2018-05-04 15:06:50 [DEBUG] updater.py(76) __init__(): Cannot not find /usr/share/cnchi/update.info file. Cnchi will not be able to update itself.

    ls /usr/share/cnchi/
    bin data scripts src ui

  • @joekamprad said in Cnchi still has a problem:

That’s totally fine. It’s old code that is not used anymore. Maybe it’s time I remove it… now Cnchi is updated using pacman, so this is not needed anymore.

    Thanks!

  • @joekamprad
I got the same message, but cnchi seems to be the latest version 0.14.426.
    And the install went OK.

  • @karasu o.k. sounds related but as you say ;)

where it is calling to update cnchi with pacman?

it is not inside pacman-boot … hotfix utility ius doing this? or cnchi itself?

  • @joekamprad
In pacman-boot.log in the beginning it shows updating two utilities, including cnchi.

  • So it seems to be solved now. Thanks @developers! :)

  • @manuel said in Cnchi still has a problem:

    Unfortunately that’s true :(

  • Well the installer Cnchi gives me errors continuously in the last days and will not let me install anything.
It is updated from the beginning to version 0.14.426-3, but after a short time of being working it tells me that it could not find the packages it needed and that it has to stop.
One attempt was already so advanced the inatalación that I ended up crashing the grub, having to install another different distro to generate the Grub menu again.
