• Cuda and Intel chip

Today’s update contained an update for Cuda.
Since I have an Intel Core-i5-3210M processor I was wondering if I really need Cuda and could uninstall it. As far as I understand Cuda is (only) needed for NVidia.

    Any suggestions on this?

  • Only cuda enabled hardware can use cuda software, some software might need cuda because they designed for cuda hardware.
You should get the Opencl compatible version of the software if you want to use Opencl for Intel HD Graphics
You should also install beignet to enable Opencl for Intel HD Graphics
For example waifu2x has both cuda and standard versions and cuda version depends on cuda

  • @tuxutku Thanks. I will look into it.
Just installed beignet to see how this will work.
