• gcc-fortran problem (seg.fault with quantum-espresso)

    Quantum-espresso fails to compile in Antergos, but compiles normally in Manjaro. I believe that the only difference is the gcc-fortran version:

    Antergos = 7.3.1 20180312
    Manjaro = 7.3.0

    I don’t know how to solve this without downgrading the full gcc package-list to 7.3.0…

    Any ideas? Could there be some other issue with 7.3.1??

  • I get this:

    f951: Warning: Nonexistent include directory ‘/build/quantum-espresso/src/qe-6.2//FoX/finclude’ [-Wmissing-include-dirs]
        USE FoX_wxml
    Fatal Error: Can't open module file ‘fox_wxml.mod’ for reading at (1): No such file or directory
    compilation terminated.
    make[1]: *** [../make.inc:16: qes_libs.o] Error 1
    make[1]: Leaving directory '/build/quantum-espresso/src/qe-6.2/Modules'
    make: *** [Makefile:183: mods] Error 1
    ==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
    ==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build quantum-espresso.

    //be carefull to do not ask for Antergos/Manjaro support on Archlinux//

  • i think you can downgrade the compiler e.t.c.:

    sudo pacman -S downgrade
    downgrade gcc-fortran gcc gcc-libs
