• Antergos+i3wm Touchpad Tap to click not working

I installed Antergos base after which installed i3wm, i have not been able to get my touchpad working right, tap-to-click is not working. I installed xfce-settings-manager and tried to configure it from theme however when i enable it in the settings once i exit the window the changes are lost. Please help!

  • To make use of settings from xfce or gnome you need to run i3wm as the WM of this DE’s like i do/done

Or you need to setup this inside xorg:

  • Thanks, ended up setting up libinput in xorg

  • Finally I got my Tap to Click working.
Here is my configuration file: /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/98-libinput-custom-config.conf

    # https://www.x.org/archive/current/doc/man/man5/xorg.conf.5.xhtml#heading9
    Section "InputClass"
      Identifier "Enable tap touchpad"
      # use the command below to check which devices are managed by libinput
      # grep -e "Using input driver 'libinput'" /path/to/Xorg.0.log
      # MatchDriver "libinput"
      MatchProduct "ELAN0902:00 04F3:3051 Touchpad"
      MatchIsTouchpad "true"
      # Options can be found here
      # https://www.mankier.com/5/xorg.conf#Inputclass_Section
      Option "Tapping" "true"

It’s really weird that I can see two touchpad in my sudo libinput list-devices

    Device: ELAN0902:00 04F3:3051 Touchpad
    Device: ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad

Only MatchProduct "ELAN0902:00 04F3:3051 Touchpad" works.
