• Some Applications to consider for Antergos packagers

I have been playing with Antergos Gnome desktop for more than 1 week. The fact that I can backup my system with Gnome Disks helped a lot about to reconsider some choices I made. Here is my temporary account about application that suit best to the gnome desktop:

    1. Best download manager: uGet
The rival XDM has the weekness of Java dependency

    2. Best image editor: Gimp /Gimp Help

    3. Best compare tool: meld + nautilus-compare

    4. Best system cleaner BleachBit (ccleaner linux alternative)

    5. Best EPUB reader: Readium, install from http://readium.org/

    6. Best dictionary: artha

    7. Best Bibliography manager: Mendeley (coded in C++)
      Users can fairly drop JabRef

    8. Rufus alternative and even better: Etcher

I personally can’t see why, as they’re all available in the repo, or in AUR. Secondly we’re not all using gnome, and providing every “best alternative” for all DE’s would make things really cluttered and very hard to manage.

Sorry, a down vote from me, even if i do like some of them.

  • Sorry for the “artha” but there seems to be a bug inserting recently copied words as a “header”.
