• LSUSB frozen with 100% CPU utilization on Antergos Live 18.3 ACER-vx15

Cinchi installer stalls after selecting a desktop environment. I notice the processes lsusb and kworker are using 100% of the CPU threads.

After hard rebooting, I tried to run lsusb from the terminal just to see what happens. No output is given, and the process is unresponsive.

I am booting off a USB from the most recent live image, Antergos Live 18.3.

My laptop, the Acer-vx15 (more specifically Aspire VX5-591G) has trouble with regards to Linux compatibility, though I’ve done quite a lot of distro-hopping. lsusb works as expected on Arch Linux, Ubuntu, and Fedora 27 (which is what I’m using for now. I prefer Arch, so I’m hoping to replace Fedora with Antergos).

Should I make a bug report on these hardware-specific issues, and if so, how can I go about doing that?

  • there is just a new release out Antergos 18.4 https://sourceforge.net/projects/antergos/files/?source=navbar
including latest kernel, may will solve your issue

  • System degrades a few seconds after gnome-shell starts. I remember this happened since 18.2.

It seems to be a problem with hardware modules. CPU threads would lock, and then my touchpad would go offline. Then everything freezes.

Before crashing, I can usually run journalctl -p 0..3.

One time, I was lucky enough to be able to mount a HDD partition and dump journalctl there (before crashing).
