• Skype 4.2 from AUR

    Hey there,

I am new to Antergos and wanted to install skype from AUR, which was never a problem on my former distros.

When I start to install it I get these missing depencies

    - lib32-qt4 (building from AUR)
    - lib32-alsa-lib (building from AUR)
    - lib32-libxss (building from AUR)
    - lib32-libxv (building from AUR)
    - lib32-libxcursor (building from AUR)
    - lib32-v4l-utils (building from AUR)

    and while building

    error: target not found: lib32-libxv
    error: target not found: lib32-alsa-lib
    error: target not found: lib32-qt4
    error: target not found: lib32-libxcursor
    error: target not found: lib32-v4l-utils
    error: target not found: lib32-libxss

When I try to install them via pacman they will not be found.

    What can I do?

  • Hi,

You need to enable the multilib repo. Edit /etc/pacman.conf and remove the ’ # ’ symbol that appears before this:

     [multilib]
    Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

After that refresh your databases with “sudo pacman -Syy” and then you can install skype without issue.

    Cheers!

  • It is Skype 4.3 now…

    Hey Hector,

I already tried this. But all I get is “error: target not found: skype”.

With -Ss there is just this call-recorder, not skype itself.

  • Are you updated and syncronized the repositories when you [b:23i772ml]enable multilib repositorie[/b:23i772ml] ?

    sudo pacman -Syyu
    sudo pacman -S skype

    Best Regards

  • Hi,
yes I already did this pacman update

    sudo pacman -S skype
    error: target not found: skype

    Misterious.

  • ok, i like to see your repositories:

    cat /etc/pacman.conf

    Copy the output comand here.
