• Cannot access certain file locations and copy/paste files.

Hi, I’m not sure what happened, but for some reason now I cannot copy or move files and cannot access images even when I try to access it through home.

I’m left with this error shot from kde plasma stating: “Could not find any application or handler for search:/images”.

The only thing that I can think of that might have caused it to break was that I put my system into hibernate to disk? Sorry I’m still very very new to linux and through searching I read that I needed to set up my computer to do hibernate first before I can do that?

Is there a way to reinstall kde without having to reinstall antergos all over again?

Any help/suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks :)

Hi Joe, I try to do the suggested method however, I cannot edit any lines since I’m greeted with this after I type “sudo nano /etc/xdg/autostart/org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Power.desktop”.

  • oh!! this answear was not for your question… sorry! Writing from Mobile Devices do that :(

  • What you have is permission problem only…

Create a new user (do this with KDE internal tools) log out and into the new created users account, then copy your personal files to new account.

    mkdir /home/NEWUSERNAME/backups/
    sudo pacman -S rsync
    sudo rsync -Pr /home/OLDUSERNAME/ /home/NEWUSERNAME/backups/
    sudo chown -R NEWUSERNAME /home/NEWUSERNAME/backups/

And delete old user (do this with KDE internal tools)

After this you can copy paste your personal files from /home/NEWUSERNAME/backups/ back to the folders you want…

Hahah oh that’s fine don’t worry about it.

And sorry Joe, but I did as stated and it still seems like I cannot access my file (Images) still let me see if I can provide a screen shot.

Funny enough when I was retrieving this file I can access my “pictures” just not “photos.” Is this supposed to be normal? What are the difference shouldn’t they be the same?

Edit: Also, I noticed that when I plug in a flashdrive it will recongize it in the tray, and when I select option to open it through there I will receive this error “Malformed URL.” However, when I go through home and select the flashdrive through the menu under “devices” I can access it.
