• Vivaldi stable in the AUR

    I can’t find the Vivaldi stable release in the AUR, is there a way I can acces it?

  • You mean the package called just vivaldi? If so, it may be covered by the package in the antergos repo. Seems to be present in AUR.

  • @piotr
    The version in the Antergos repo isn’t the current version. Before Vivaldi was in the Antergos repo, it was more in sync update-wise.
    I understand that the Antergos devs are busy, but I rather like a more frequent updated version of Vivaldi.

  • Well, I just tried to answer the question: if the package there is in AUR.

    If you’re curious what’s new, just DIY. Sorry if you need no explanation, maybe someone else needs it:

    1. Copy the PKGBUILD content, make a directory, e.g. /home/user/vivaldi, and save as the PKGBUILD file.
    2. Enter the directory, run makepkg -s.
    3. Install the newly created package: sudo pacman -U vivaldi-1.14.1077.55-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.

  • @piotr
    I did appreciate your answer, my answer wasn’t in any way meant to be rude to you.😉
    I only was looking for a solution that Vivaldi would be more frequently updated, like chromium and firefox are.

    @joekamprad
    Thanks for the instructions, I will do it tonight when I’m at home.
