• PGP Signature Error

    Hi, I have looked through some of the guides on how to install discord but I am still having trouble.
    I have imported one of the public keys that was on another thread before and it still made no difference.

    I am trying to now follow this guide https://linoxide.com/linux-how-to/install-discord-ubuntu-arch-linux/
    But I am confused on how I find out my own “key” and when I find it how I add it?

    ==> Verifying source file signatures with gpg…
    llvm-5.0.1.src.tar.xz … FAILED (unknown public key 8F0871F202119294)
    libcxx-5.0.1.src.tar.xz … FAILED (unknown public key 8F0871F202119294)
    libcxxabi-5.0.1.src.tar.xz … FAILED (unknown public key 8F0871F202119294)
    ==> ERROR: One or more PGP signatures could not be verified!
    ==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build libc++.
    ==> Restart building libc++ ? [y/N]
    ==> -------------------------------

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    gpg recv-keys 8F0871F202119294

    As normal user from terminal

  • The how-to shows the wrong term, it is NOT your key it needs to be the key of PKGBUILD maintainer…

  • I have a similar error with the same key and the command comes back with this.

    gpg: WARNING: no command supplied. Trying to guess what you mean …
    usage: gpg [options] [filename]

  • Oh I just see autocorrect do a bad job …

    It should work like this:

    gpg --recv-keys key-id

    Replace key-id with maintainers key.

    Sorry for that!
