• Wifi connection keeps dropping (Dell Inspiron 5458)

    Hello there,

I have a serious problem. My wi-fi connection keeps dropping very often, and I have to turn the wi-fi off and on again to be able to connect the internet again. Do you have any idea about how I can get rid of this issue? My laptop is Dell Inspiron 5458, and my wi-fi card seems to be Intel ProSet 3160. Thank you very much!

Firts try to disable bluetooth, to see if this is causing your network instability:

    sudo systemctl stop bluetooth

  • Hello Sir,

Thank you so much for your help. I have done both of the suggestions you wrote. (Bios and Bluetooth) I am going to wait to see if it resolved my wifi issue, and let you know the result from here.

I didn’t understand these two. Could you please help me with what I need to do for these two? Thank you again!

  • I guess there is something technical, because the issue is still there. My connection still drops randomly. I guess I am going to live with that for now till I have a financial possibility to buy another laptop.
