• Make a guest session

Is there any packages/options to add a guest session on GNOME?

  • I use guest-account from the AUR, which you can check here. The info about the package is the following:

“If ‘guest’ is the name of your regular user account, THIS PACKAGE WILL DELETE ALL YOUR FILES.”
“Some desktop environments (e.g. Plasma) automatically creates the home folder upon login, if missing.”
“Still, you may want to ensure /home/guest be automatically created every time ‘guest’ logs in (e.g. from tty).”
“You can do so by appending the following line to /etc/pam.d/system-login:”

    I hope it helps.

  • Sorry, I forgot “session required pam_mkhomedir.so”

  • @johnnybegood Will this affect my current account?

  • No, it won’t unless the name is exactly “guest”. You will have another account apart from the personal one you have now.
