• Very simple graphical HTTP file server on your local network

@manuel will you release an update to fix the Meltdown and Spectre CPU bugs? Anyway, while waiting…

Please include a few information/tips on the script

    • to mark as executable and allow execution of the script: chmod +x webserver.sh
    • how to call the script, by ‘bash webserver.sh’ or ‘./webserver.sh’, for example
    • usage is not clear, you should write something like: “./webserver --dir=/tmp”
    • check for python2 or python3, because python2 usage should be: python -m SimpleHTTPServer 8000
    • include option for https or http, check https://blog.anvileight.com/posts/simple-python-http-server/ has example of both

Let’s meditate with some yoga movements and I will find some more stuff to add. No limits for Python and bash, so prepare yourself…

  • @casquinhas 😎
Meltdown and Spectre bugs are already squashed! 😂 (Just kidding, for the uninitiated…)

Well, you already wrote the tips so I don’t need to, thanks! ;)

As Antergos offers python3 by default, I won’t be downgrading. A place to fork I guess…

That https idea is interesting! But currently I have no plans for supporting it, since for me this is a project for simple use in local (home) network.

New ideas are always welcome! Thanks for the heads up @casquinhas ! :)

So the wording you mentioned is OK for me. I believe you get the picture where I stand. But please don’t hesitate to ask if it is not clear.

Will do! And I completely get the whole inclination to hear user reports without having to deal with their problems. It sounds like every programmers’ heaven :) .

  • Now this is on github! :)

    Enjoy!
