• Issue running vagrant with virtualbox provider

    Hello I just installed virtual box and vagrant. I am setting up a Laravel Homstead. I already configured the neccesarry configurations. But When I run the command it shows the following error.

    $ vagrant up
    The provider 'virtualbox' that was requested to back the machine
    'cnms' is reporting that it isn't usable on this system. The
    reason is shown below:

    VirtualBox is complaining that the kernel module is not loaded. Please
    run `VBoxManage --version` or open the VirtualBox GUI to see the error
    message which should contain instructions on how to fix this error.

    I am thinking I need some virtual box linux header file for this I just forgot what file I need.

    Please Help

  • @flashery
    Did you already reboot?
    You may need linux headers packages depending on which kernel you are using. Install either linux-headers or linux-lts-headers (for linux or linux-lts kernel).
    What virtualbox packages have you installed onto host and guest?

  • @manuel Yeah when I rebooted it fix the issue. Thanks man
