• Asus AC1200

Hi. Does anyone have a Asus AC1200 wifi USB adapter working?
I leave below some info that I gathered but still does not have a device that I can use. I only see for networking the ethernet connection and NONE wifi.
    Thanks

    rtl8812AU

    try one from AUR:

    https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/?O=0&SeB=nd&K=rtl8812au&SB=n&SO=a&PP=50&do_Search=Go

    pacaur -S rtl8812au-dkms-git

    or

    yaourt -S rtl8812au-dkms-git

as you need dkms installed to let it build the modules for your kernel e.t.c.

  • @joekamprad only saw this now, sorry to take too long to answer back.

Installed but still does not detect any device on WIFI menu.

    dmesg:
    [ 1869.000127] usb 2-2: USB disconnect, device number 2
    [ 1873.209846] usb 2-2: new high-speed USB device number 6 using ehci-pci

Just have to wait to have a little inspiration and fix this.
    Thank you

  • Why wifiradar, auto device and speakup?
    What is your Desktop Environment?

    DEEPIN!!! DEEPIN!!! hehehehehee

    [[email protected] ~]$ echo $DESKTOP_SESSION
    deepin

I also love Cinnamon and others like KDE. But I’ve been using Deepin and lots of utilities that they have, like the Deepin Terminal and Deepin ScreenShot.

Back to the wifi, this is not an urgent problem, as I connect via Ethernet, but I would love to have wifi here too, and I’m trying to figure this out, because I have two more laptops that will only use wifi.

  • @casquinhas
why then not using network/manager and settings from deepin itself?

  • As far as I know access to WLAN can be exclusive, so it stay disarmed if another app has access…

Thank you for your tips but what program is that? I don’t have that icon and searched on software installer for “deepin” and I have almost every deepin program installed.
I do have the wifiradar and it does not auto-detect.

Well, since it’s not urgent, I have not yet tried to find a solution and I just checked dmesg and not a single red line or error.

Later I will try to see how my Toshiba is configured because wifi works, except it does not have route configured and I still need to add a route so it get to the internet.

I have it but as in every other place, it shows only wired networking, and I’ve never seen anything related to wireless.
But hey, forget this. I will have time next week to investigate this “dark matter” stuff.

  • o.k. i will help if needed !
