No, never. My is an Intel Core 2 DUO. But my next desktop will be an AMD. I was just asking.

  • Also, a simple item with:

    Show my hardware information

and it would show the output of inxi, or a similar software.

  • @ssspacez i would like somthing like this:
    https://github.com/Antergos/welcome

    0_1516175968804_68747470733a2f2f7261772e6769746875622e636f6d2f6a6b772f616e746572676f732d77656c636f6d652f6d61737465722f73637265656e73686f742e706e67.png

But instead of welcome it will include howto and system info, backup/restore, and maintenance buttons.

  • @casquinhas i know that there are a few AMD users here at the Forum, and there us no problem with the ISO and installation!

  • @joekamprad good, I thought it was going to be a DOS/GRUB like iso, this way is even easier to use!

  • 0_1516219603832_Bildschirmfoto_2018-01-17_21-05-18.png

    • creating simple script to show systeminfo with mousepad
    • try to setup XFCE4 environment
  • I get github to take my files now and repository should work for building the still testing-staged ISOS :)

  • I am happy to announce the first working BETA-ISO for antergos :rescue

Feel free to try it out: (be aware that it is in testing-stage)

    I will upload now to:

  • @joekamprad more tools on the future?

    http://kamprad.net/Downloads/antergos-rescue/info/

These are nice, but you do need much more for rescue activities, like testdisk, etc.

  • @casquinhas list is not up to date ;)
and adding packages is a easy task…
and testdisk is on the ISO!

    info updated: http://kamprad.net/Downloads/antergos-rescue/info/

  • Adding conky would be considered too much? The rescue .iso is not going to be used daily as a normal desktop so I don’t think the desktop space would be used. This means there’s plenty of room for a fully featured conky with everything that conky can offer, or at least the more important conky features. This may be considered bloat by some people but it’s your call, you decide, it’s just an idea.

  • yes conky could be possible, but needs some suggestions on what it should show…
as something like top memusage and CPU load is not realy nessesarry for rescue…

But i can think of showing something like journalctl -f or may it is possible to show hardware informations from inxi or similar…

  • @joekamprad

  • @joekamprad
In rescue ISO, how about having a yad program (script) that could show outputs of many different info/maintenance commands, such as
inxi, lsblk, blkid, lspci, lsmod, etc. (whatever there are)
It could both show the outputs to screen, and log them to file(s) and/or into web like pastebin or similar?

  • @joekamprad
The speed is quite OK, but not the top speed, my connection could theoretically support about ten times more speed. But I’m not complaining, just observing. : - )

  • This can be useful when people ask for help on the forum, a copy/export feature of the logs here(or pastebin-like websites) and people with more knowledge could read the logs and help solve issues faster. Personally I don’t read logs, there’s just too much information there, I don’t know what to look for.
