Hey guys, first time trying out an arch distro, I’m familiar with debian and ubuntu based. In my install, I get to the “start antergos live” option, select it, and it goes fine until it trys to start X. it errors out with “Fatal Server Error: (EE) no screens found (EE)”. From here I can get a CLI as root, and look at the log file.
(If someone can tell me how to pull the log file off of the machine I’d be happy to post it)
There were a few weird things in the log.
in the device family list, the newest device is an nvidia 400 series, and it throws a warning saying it couldnt load the module “Vesa”
I have a GTX 980 (NV110)
When I try to remove the nouveau drivers and restart x per this thread: https://www.linuxforums.org/forum/arch-linux/208746-problems-graphical-interface.html
the same error occurs. I have also tried what was suggested here: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/207895/how-do-i-install-antergos-with-a-gtx-970
To no avail.
I’m a total noob to arch, but I’m really eager to learn. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Thanks in advance for any help!
