• Installation Bug with UEFI with Antergo 17.12 Penta Booting

I found a Bug with the installer corrupting the UEFI Firmware settings on a Toshiba Satellite C55-B5100. Had to reset the UEFI/Bios and then re-install the other Operating Systems. Some screenshots of the installation:

    I’m the only Multi-Booting here?

    Hi!

Well, actually as far as i saw on your pics you formated the EFI partition (fat 32), that’s why you lost your other system entry at boot.

You should have picked up the partition but WITHOUT formating it.

You also wouldn’t need to reinstall the other system, but boot your windows image in rescue mode and reinstall only the efi partition (there are some tutorials on the internet, but i have no time right now to look for it right now )

  • I did not format the EFI partition. after the install when I turn the computer on I could only see the Toshiba Logo and I couldnt get to the UEFI Firmware Settings. I had to Clear CMOS & I tried fixing with The Windows 10 Install media and the Ubuntu 16.04 Live USB. used different tools to repair the Bootloader. When you format the EFI partition the OS you are installing should Boot after your re-start the computer.

    Sounds like a hardware problem.

    I had to Clear CMOS

Now it’s really starting to sound like a hardware problem.

Too many cooks spoil the broth.

When you format the EFI partition the OS you are installing should Boot after your re-start the computer.

Only if you flag it correctly.

Maybe it’s not a hardware problem. User I/O?

  • @c00ter is NOT a Hardware problem. I have all 5 OS’s installed and working now and I’m using this computer to respond to your post. I will post the video with the installation. like I said this a Bug with the Toshiba Satellite C55-B5100 .

About your other statements i have no knowledge so i can’t express any opinion about it.

It’s possible that you found a bug, but formating efi partition was what came to me when i saw your pics.

Let’s wait if someone else more experienced can help you.
