• Fresh Install, 2 Programs will not start GUI

Just did a fresh install after discovering my new motherboard wouldn’t boot my Antergos boot partition, however 2 program GUI’s wont load.

    gufw

Opening via gnome, i get password prompt then nothing, and above is the output of cli start…

    Deluge

    1. deluge-gui will load but no GUI will show (the librsvg and pygtk gui dependencies are installed)
    2. terminal starup was complaining about missing service_identity, and installing python2-service-identity at least did something benefitial to fix that but now there is no output but deluge-gui is loading with no shown gui

    deluge

i just installed deluge in a VM and worked. It’s interesting to notice that it has a lot of dependencies, something may still be missing.

    try:
    sudo pacman -S $(pactree -u deluge) --needed
you can launch in terminal with deluge and deluge-gtk just in case.

Do the same for your other package, install dependencies if needed.

no listed dependencies were out of date for either, forcing all deps to be reinstalled for deluge worked but gufw still has the same problem FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/usr/sbin/ufw': '/usr/sbin/ufw' cannot start still via terminal or gnome.

    that’s spooky, but ok.

ufw doesn’t install it’s binary at /sbin folder but at /usr (i guess an old version did since i have it at both /sbin and /usr) .

Is there a ufw binary at /usr/bin?
    check with:
    ls /usr/bin |grep ufw

if so, you can simlynk the file (which is a very bad solution but i don’t know what’s going on here)
    sudo ln -s /usr/bin/ufw /usr/sbin/ufw

OR you can simply run ufw with:
    /usr/bin/ufw

    /usr/bin/ufw contains

    gufw
    gufw-pkexec
    ufw

    Symlink worked
