• How to show android files from phone

I have a Moto G4 cell phone and when I plug it into my desktop it is not recognized.
How to get Antergos to see my cell phone to move files? Thanks

  • Open terminal:

    journalctl - f

Plugin phone and see what terminal putout.
May you need to enable usb debugging and the connection mode into phone.
    Storage Device or MTP connection.

    I get this…
    [[email protected] ~]$ journalctl - f
Failed to add match ‘-’: Invalid argument
    [[email protected] ~]$

  • @vinoman Nothing shows up. I’ve used other distros and its shows the files.

  • I just plug in the USB cable.

In the phone I need to select MTP for the USB connection before doing anything on Antergos.

In Antergos Xfce, when I plug in an Android phone (I’ve tried several models), the phone is visible in Thunar file manager. In Thunar I need to click the phone icon on the left panel, and then it shows the contents of the phone on the right panel.

  • I’m using deepin desktop and after setting to transfer files on the phone, still nothing shows up, maybe it’s a problem with deepin?

  • @vinoman
That problem could be caused by many reasons. One thing to try is to use a different USB port.

  • Tried that, still nothing. I’ll have to use Ubuntu, Mint or Fedora to transfer files with my phone. Maybe one day I’ll find the answer.

  • @vinoman
    The command is: journalctl -f

Thank you so much for providing me with this information !!! I’ll add that to the Deepin ISO right away… (it’ll be there in my next release:grinning:).

Keep trying, never give up. In the end, you will find that it was all worth it
