• Errors #137619 #138097 - Install halts!

    Hi Guys

    I downloaded Antergos 17.11 and have tried several times to install it.

    I keep getting errors about downloading packages and metalinks with various error codes; #137619 #138097.

    The installation goes well and even selects the partition, but just as I ma ready to enter text,
    in the username computer name dialog box i get the above errors and message.

    Thanks in advance
    Dave

  • @developers will be informing you !

  • @HawkTheSlayer We need your log. The file is /tmp/cnchi.log, please, update it to a service like paste2.org and put the link here so we can have a look at it.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Karasu

    Thanks for the response.

    I visited the paste2 link. Do I have to have an account?

    I hit create paste but no link is generated.

  • @karasu
    Thanks guys for all your replies thus far.

    I have tried to install a couple of times and here are those outputs and links;

    Error code 139741
    https://pastebin.com/3Fc8qQyY

    Error code 139789 (The top line still says 139741 sorry forgot to change)
    https://pastebin.com/bRWVvDdx

    EDIT - I gave it another try this time got the following;
    Error code 140283
    https://pastebin.com/0HsLGRdH

    I hope these attempts can in some way go towards helping the team resolve these issues.

    All the best - Dave

  • Hi,

    Do you have a “normal” direct Internet connection? What I mean is, are you behind a proxy or using some kind of firewall? I ask because in your log I see this:

    2017-11-11 18:52:39 [WARNING] extra.py(430) has_connection(): <urlopen error timed out>
    2017-11-11 18:52:40 [WARNING] extra.py(430) has_connection(): HTTP Error 403: Forbidden

    There’s also this error when trying to detect your hardware, but this shouldn’t be a problem:

    2017-11-11 18:53:37 [ERROR] select_packages.py(291) select_packages(): Error in hardware module. An exception of type FileNotFoundError occured. Arguments: (2, 'No such file or directory')

    And the fatal error:

    2017-11-11 18:53:37 [ERROR] pac.py(567) cb_log(): could not open file /var/lib/pacman/sync/antergos.db: Unrecognized archive format

    It looks like Cnchi (the installer) cannot update the repository database.

  • @karasu said in Errors #137619 #138097 - Install halts!:

    Hi karasu

    My connection is normal, no proxy, firewall or VPN.

    In fact it’s the same one I have used to install Antergos (at least 4 times) over the last year.

    As for the hardware karasu, again no changes and no problems with previous installations of Antergos, and the setup has also had no problems with other rolling arch distro’s.

    I hope this helps.

  • could not open file /var/lib/pacman/sync/antergos.db: Unrecognized archive format

    could be that it gets an errorpage on downloading it, may you can say where you stay (country)

    Bad iso download or bad usb burning? :crystal_ball:

  • @karasu

    I re-downloaded twice and checked md5.

    I burnt one file to USB under a windows 10 partition using image usb.

    https://www.osforensics.com/tools/write-usb-images.html

    and the other from the torrent source using gnome disk utility restore image on my laptop which has Antergos 17.10.

  • You can also try with imagewriter, it always worked for me …

  • Hi Judd

    @karasu @joekamprad

    Just retried using imagewriter and another verified download.

    Here is the output from a new error #141101
