The Deepin desktop has been making important improvements in the latest months. And right now I believe it has more future than any other GTK+ desktop out there, specially for newbies.
It’s super simple and intuitive out of the box. And at the same time it allows configuring all the kind of things that user would usually care, and nothing of what they won’t. All in a single and continuous control panel.
- Display scaling.
- Screen brightness, even on desktop monitors.
- Disabling window effects.
- Virtual network.
- Network time.
- Disabling the boot menu.
- Dock position, icons, hiding, and enabled extensions.
And it’s very stable, with its apps written in QT.
