• Top panel in Gnome doesn't apply shell theme

I am using the Gnome desktop environment and I love it. I have a problem though. The top panel doesn’t have the shell theme icons visible, only the default icons. If I hover over them with my mouse cursor they change to match my shell theme. The shell theme is EvoPop. There is a gif image below. Watch the top right corner.

  • Does this happen with any shell theme? If not, it likely is an issue with your specific theme that needs to be fixed by the developpers.

Actually, no. It works just fine with the default Numix Frost theme. Is there a way to fix this?

Edit: This is also my favorite theme in general so I wouldn’t like to switch themes.

  • If you do not want to switch the shell theme, then the theme will need to be fixed. With some research, you may be able to fix it yourself. Alternatively (and better as it will benefit all users), you should file a bug to the theme developers (unless you are able to upload a patch yourself).

  • @CadenMitchell I actually found a fix for the EvoPop Gnome shell theme. The theme was missing the inactive icons so I copied them from the Numix Frost theme and also the gnome-shell.css and pasted it into my EvoPop theme. I switched the theme to Numix Frost and then back to EvoPop to reload the icon cache and it all looked right!
