• Other VPN Alternatives?

I’m currently using Private Internet Access and planning on switching VPN. Is it possible to configure VPN on Arch using Nord VPN or Express VPN? Those are one of the two I plan on using.

  • I’ve been using Nord VPN for a year now and Antergos/Arch for over 6 months. I’m generally happy with Nord VPN without major issues, but you may need to try different servers to gain the best speed performance. Express VPN is on my to audition list, but more expensive.

  • I personally use AirVPN, so far i love it. Created by activists for net neutrality which to me personally is important. They have their own VPN client with network lock for Linux, plus you can use OpenVPN.

  • I think NordVPN currently have a subscription discount on 80% for a 2 yaer prepaid service…

I use that and its easy to set up with NetworkManager in Gnome.

    I make things work…

If you don’t mind, you think you can tell me how setup? I’ve been searching on how to do it for Arch but they only show PIA setup.

Its the same as Ubuntu, just a different package networkmanager-openvpn

  • You shouldn’t have to install anything. Just go to step 5 under How to connect to OpenVPN via Network Manager: in the link izzie posted above. Easy peasy.

  • @izznogooood Thanks man!! I’ll give it a try.

  • @triode13 Thats true since its already installed.

I didn’t know what vpn to chose for a long time, read reviews here https://10best-vpn.com/ and finally bought Nord vpn on official website with an discount and I’m happy about my choice.

  • As the titel actually says “Other VPN Alternatives”…

There is always the option to have the the VPN running on a bought och flashed router running OpenVPN, Tomato or any other variety.

It is probably a discussion of itś own, but if you want to secure the entire network, including smart TV’s and everything else. NordVPN and a few others has this as an alternative.

In most instances it reduces the network speed significantly, but where I live high speed conections are fairly cheep.

As I said, it’s an alternative.
