• Webcam won't work -- Uvcvideo not found

    Hello,

I try to use my Webcam Logitech C270, but it doesn’t work. I installed cheese to see whether it gets detected, but it says that no device is found.

Therefore I used sudo modprobe uvcvideo which gives me the error: modprobe: FATAL: Module uvcvideo not found in directory /lib/modules/4.13.3-1-ARCH.

The webcam itself is detected when I use lsusb.

    Is there any solution?

    Thank you in advance.

    C270
    Archwiki still say:
As of kernel 2.6.26 linux-uvc is part of the kernel. Just load the uvcvideo module.

But we have kernel 4.13.4-1-ARCH now , may you updated and do not reboot?

    /usr/include/linux/uvcvideo.h
    /usr/lib/modules/4.13.4-1-ARCH/build/include/uapi/linux/uvcvideo.h
    /usr/lib/modules/4.13.4-1-ARCH/kernel/drivers/media/usb/uvc/uvcvideo.ko.gz

  • Thanks, you were right. I just updated it, but I didn’t reboot. My fault. Things can be so easy.
