• Black screen on LTS kernel

    I’m getting a black screen when booting from the 4.9 LTS kernel. journalctl reveals lightdm is unable to start. Screen is black with a top left blinking cursor. I can switch to other TTYs. I can boot alright into 4.13

    Let me know if you need anything else to help me fix this problem.

    $ pacman -Q | grep lts
    linux-lts 4.9.52-1
    $ inxi -G

               OpenGL: renderer: GeForce GTX 560 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 version: 4.5.0 NVIDIA 384.90
    $ uname -r
