• Fresh Gnome Installation missing Antergos theming and extensions

    Hi!

I just installed antergos (gnome) with the latest install medium on my desktop and notebook. The live environment is themed as usual (Numix theme and all the Gnome Extensions).
If i installed the system and rebooted it uses the default gnome style (adwaita) without any extensions. Anyone else having this issue?
I tried the Live ISO and also the Minimum ISO.

  • Just wanted to say that I experienced the same issue.
Running from Live USB (17.9) with no issue, after install and reboot, system starts with regular GNOME 3 desktop.

  • Maybe it’s a possible bug? If so, the Antergos @developers may want to know about this…

P.S. Until the @developers can fix this issue, you may wish to give my community ISO a go - Antergos Deepin. It’s just the Antergos ISO with a few modifications, such as allowing one to install Deepin DE. However, Gnome along with all of the other usual DEs are also available:grinning:. If you want to give it a go, here’s the link:

I wish you the best of luck!

    My mistake. I think it’s a change I did in antergos-gsettings.

Guys, can you try to copy the gsettings schema to see if it helps? Like this:

    sudo cp /usr/share/antergos/schemas/gnome/90_antergos_gnome.gschema.override /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas

I’ll try to fix this asap.

  • @karasu

sadly it still doesnt work after copying…

  • Can you try if recompiling schemas helps?

    sudo glib-compile-schemas /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas

P.S. I need to rethink all this.

  • @karasu

this did set the wallpaper back to default Antergos but other settings as Extensions and Fonts stayed the same.

Sometimes certain things require a reboot to take effect. Perhaps this is the case here?

Hope I can help, and good luck:grinning:.

  • Ive done a clean reinstall now and executed both commands, rebooted and now works like expected again.
    Thanks a lot!

I think before it was not working because ive already made some changes in the gnome tweak tool

  • yep.

    1. antergos-gsettings is OLD. it must be replaced with antergos-gnome-setup.

    2. antergos-openbox-setup 1.0 was replacing antergos-gsettings unnecessarily , that has been fixed.

    3. I need to test antergos openbox installation, because I’m afraid it will be broken atm.

    Conclude
    Conflicting files:
/etc/oblogout.conf exists in oblogout and antergos-openbox-setup
    antergos-openbox-setup: etc / skel / .config / qt5ct / qt5ct.conf is already in the file system

before it says update for antergos-gnome-setup aviable and want to replace antergos-gsettings by antergos-gnome-setup and the same for antergos-openbox-setup … but after say no to install antergos-openbox-setup all is good…

    Will fix it asap

    This I need to fix.

    antergos-openbox-setup: etc / skel / .config / qt5ct / qt5ct.conf is already in the file system

This is OK. Cnchi copies that file (which needs to be changed). Now that file is installed with antergos-openbox-setup

The whole idea behind is would be that all these files need to be installed with antergos-blahblablah-setup files and not by Cnchi itself. This way users will be able to install an “antergorized” DE just by installing the correct package.

Sadly, I haven’t got any time to wrap this up in one big step and I’m trying to do little changes one at a time.

Then i am totally o.k. with some little bugs :)
