  • Installed. Thank you! So far I have discovered two features. In Live mode, a long start (there was already a sound of launching the desktop, but the picture was black for a long time). After installation in lightdm, it was said about the error and several options are suggested, one of them is fallback). Maybe the default is to use a different Display manager? After the second reboot everything is OK, look no further.

    You’re welcome! Although really, I’m just glad to be helping other users out and making their lives easier. Thank you for giving my Community Edition a try:grinning:. I really appreciate it.

    In Live mode, a long start (there was already a sound of launching the desktop, but the picture was black for a long time).

    I noticed the same thing over here when testing it. I have no idea why it does that, but at least it works:grinning:. (and better than ever before too I think ;)).

    This is just some weird error with LightDM. I don’t know what causes it, but no matter what option you pick, they all do the same thing for some reason. Nothing is affected, except that the annoying error pops up every few weeks or so and then eventually goes away for ever. (the exact same thing happened to me when I first installed Antergos using Gnome ;)). In the end, it means nothing! No need to worry, there is not actually anything wrong with your setup or the installation in any way. Pretty soon, it will disappear for ever.

    i just builded a minimum iso without changing anything and also noticed these too long black screen (or grey not sure now) behaviour, so is not related to your build @keegan.

    Well that’s good to hear, sort of:smile:. Perhaps the Antergos @developers are working on something?

    Thanks! Although really, that credit must go to the Antergos @developers (as mentioned in my first post). If you just check the Antergos repo in Pamac, you will notice that “antergos-welcome” is already there! I have no idea why it’s not included by default in their own ISOs, but it seemed like such a nice idea that I thought I would include it in mine:grinning:.

    Thank you! Good luck in your exploring:grinning:. If you (or anyone else for that matter) thinks of something / finds something that should either be added or fixed, just let me know! I would love to have whatever feedback and suggestions you can offer. It will make next month’s edition just that much better ;).

    Thanks!

  • Ok!
    I played a little with deepin, wow is a little alien to me. I want to give you a feedback of some things i found:

    At the “new antergos welcome screen” clicking the buttons that should redirect you to a site only open chromium browser without leading to the proper site

    At configs i couldn’t change screen resolution nor bright (both xrandr, virtualbox-guest-utils virtualbox-guest-modules-arch are installed but i guess that’s a deepin missing package. I changed the resolution with xrandr

    You must run VBoxClient-all & (make a .desktop file or script etc) to load virtualbox stuff. That way we can use copy/paste between VM and RM, shared folders…

    The vboxservice.service at /etc/systemd/system/ doens’t work, but you don’t need it if you do the procedure above.

    Hmmm… perhaps that’s why the Antergos devs haven’t added it to their ISO. Thank you fro letting me know:grinning:.

    Interesting. It works over here! Maybe it’s a hardware issue?

    Hmmm… I checked your log files, and it seems Cnchi got confused with your partitions. However, I am no expert at this:smile:. Cnchi is really @karasu’s area of expertise! However, I will check every single file that Cnchi downloads for Deepin to make sure that they are all still in the repos or have not been renamed.

    Thank you for the notice! I really apreciate it:slight_smile:.

    Ah… sorry, I misunderstood there:smile:. I thought you were referring to trying the Live ISO on an actual system. As for the VM, I must agree with you there. It stopped working after a gob of Deepin updates came through a few months ago and has never seemed to work properly since. However, that issue does not plague the experience on an actual computer:grinning:. I’ll see if I can fix it myself, but I think it might be on Deepin’s end rather than mine:disappointed:.

  • In the previous topic was the issue with the title of shortcuts on the desktop. Labels were in English and in the language of your choice in the menu. It seems there was no solution. Solution: sent a shortcut on the desktop-opened it in gedit in Name and Comment add in the required language, adding even big letters. Example:

    Comment[ru]=Центр управления окружением Deepin Desktop
    Name[ru]=Центр управления

    Correctly

    Comment[ru_RU]=Центр управления окружением Deepin Desktop
    Name[ru_RU]=Центр управления

  • i just try it out too, also upload to http://kamprad.net/Downloads is renewed.

    Works very nice and boots on nvidia drivers without a problem (takes a bit to get to LiveEnvironment)

    This new Antergos welcome screen is not meant to pop up before installation, it is made for popup on the first boot to the new installation.

    And as @fernandomaroto say links do not open, only chromium opens with home screen…

  • Por fin he instalado Deepin, lo suyo me ha costado :neutral_face: por alguna extraña razón no se llevaba muy bien con mis particiones (el “You can not install the necessary packages. Cnchi can not continue.
:slight_smile:

    Good to hear:grinning:. And sorry that it cost you:disappointed:. I greatly appreciate your dedication to making Antergos-Deepin a better system for everyone. Through your efforts and suggestions, it is finally becoming the thing of beauty I had first envisioned it as. Without you, this would never have happened.

    Thank you:slight_smile:. Truly, thank you.
