• Over 200 Downloads of Antergos Deepin

I am proud to announce that Antergos Deepin has recently reached a major point in it’s existence - exceeding 200 downloads in the past three months! In the last 8 days alone, it has received 141! In total, 234 downloads have occurred even, showing that over half of the downloads have taken place in the last week - rather than the previous 3 months. If you think that Antergos Deepin is steadily rising in popularity, then this should bring encouraging news for Antergos as a whole. Antergos is now one of the quickest rising distros around:grinning:. And it’s only getting better.

Accompanying this exciting news, I would also like to thank everyone who has used my ISO (Antergos-Deepin), especially those who gave me a hard time and were / are always asking me about improvements and changes I should make to it. You have really challenged me and made this project infinitely better. I would also like to sincerely thank the Antergos @developers for their continual support and backing. Without them, none of this would be possible and this project would not even exist in the first place. Thank you everyone.

Keep trying, never give up. In the end, you will find that it was all worth it

Than you @Velkerk! I recently came across that same video myself a few days ago and added it to my webpage actually:smile:. (Do you know who made this? I would assume it was someone from the Forum, and there’s only one Spanish speaker here I know who’s interested in Antergos Deepin - you ;) Just a wild guess!)

Thank you so much @joekamprad! But are you sure? I know you were getting quite a nice setup there with i3 and already had a great one with Gnome I think…

But still, thank you. I would love to hear any suggestions and words of wisdom you may have to offer.

@Keegan I am not the creator of the video.

Interesting… I wonder who it could be then?

I am grateful for the interest and diffusion of Antergos Deepin.

Same here! Although I tried to watch the video a few days ago in its entirety, but realized it was in Spanish! I set it to auto-translate to English, but the translation was absolutely horrible (for me). Do you think you could sum up what the video said in a sentence or two? (or just what stuck out to you).

Thank you! (and I totally understand if you don’t have the time. I was just wondering).

Have you taken a look at this article? I know that you probably already know about it, but just thought I would throw it out there just in case:grinning:.

  • Maybe it would be possible to help to improve some hidden Antergos DEs. Cnchi offers them for years:

    • budgie
    • deepin
    • enlightenment
    • i3
    • lxqt

Most work well. Some do not.

Hidden Antergos DEs may be installed from a regular user terminal with:

    cnchi -z

    Or with:

    cnchi --z_hidden

    Just a thought.

This one is only suitable to the outdated Pilzbauer ISO ;)

I feel that my problem comes up from ipv6 at my network connection, i need to setup network without ipv6 before i start with installation and it will work…

Thank you! I actually have all of the hidden DEs available for installment in Cnchi (By using a similar command to the ones you mentioned to start Cnchi). But I have not wanted to tinker too much with the other DEs as I do not know them well, or in other words have never really used them on Arch. Thus, I do not want to change them as I do not feel I have enough experience with the DE itself to do so. If someone else would like to volunteer themselves, just let me know! I would love to make those other DEs more useable for others:grinning:.

I have actually had to resort to using the command offered there during an installation using the normal Antergos ISO. It still solved the problem for me! (this was about two months ago, so things could have changed since then).

OK then! I wish you the best of luck with that! And please let me know how it goes once you have accomplished that:grinning:.

Hmmm… I asked @karasu to add that package as networkmanager-openvpn, but perhaps he accidentally added it as network-manager-openvpn instead. I’ll go ask him to make sure it’s networkmanager-openvpn!

    Thank you:grinning:.
