For the past day or so, whenever I attempt to upgrade, I cannot upgrrade anything from the ‘antergos’ category as I keep recieving the error above. Due to this, I cannot upgrade ‘antergos-mirrorlist’. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know! Any help is welcome:slight_smile:.

    Thank you!

  • @Keegan
    Hi,
I cannot say I’m very familiar with Antergos mirror things, but can you change antergos-mirrorlist manually to your liking? Or at least check if a mirror modification removes the error?
If not, I’m out of ideas.

Ok, I just saw your latest update. Are you using AUR too?

  • @manuel said in error: failed retrieving file 'antergos.db' from mirrors.antergos.com:

Yep. Although antergos packages should not be in the AUR… (I updated my entire system just before posting that, including the packages from the AUR too).

Hi! i don’t know specifically about your error but you can try to "reset everything"
If you have both reflector and haveged installed:

sudo haveged -w 1024; sudo pacman-key --init; sudo pacman-key --populate archlinux antergos; sudo pacman-key --refresh-keys; sudo pkill haveged; sudo pacman -Syy; sudo reflector --verbose --age 8 --fastest 128 --latest 64 --number 32 --sort rate --save /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist; sudo pacman -Syyu

    if not:
sudo pacman-key --init; sudo pacman-key --populate archlinux antergos; sudo pacman-key --refresh-keys; sudo pacman -Syyu

For what its worth, in /var/lib/pacman/sync/ I have (ls -l):
    -rw-r–r-- 1 root root 161766 3. 9. 16:36 antergos.db

So… I understood you up to your “(ls -l)” is that what you put into your terminal?

It really seems that your mirrors are severly out of date. You need to change mirrors or upgrade them somehow.

  • Ah… never mind about my last post:smile:. Figured it out myself. This is what I have:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 161912 Aug 4 23:50 antergos.db Apperently I have not updated it for a LONG time! I would guess that is why I’m having these issues now…

Yes, it shows the size and time of the antergos.db file.

  • So, yours is Aug 4 and mine is Sep 3.

Just curious, how did that happen? Haven’t you updated your system recently?

My thoughts exactly. I wonder what would happen if I uninstalled antergos-mirrorlist? Would I be able to then reinstall it?

Not sure, I haven’t done that, but worth a try I guess.

I’ve been updating it every few days. I have no idea why that the antergos mirrorlist is so outdated… Everything else is up to date here.
