• Can't boot from a USB on 2014 Macbook Pro

After having some issues getting my wifi working on an antergos installation on my mac I set it up on my desktop and installed it on a usb. I could boot onto the bootable usb from my mac earlier, but now that it’s a full installation it’s no longer working. When I select the usb at launch it just loads into osx as if I had selected my normal hard drive. The usb works fine on my windows desktop so I’m not sure what the issue could be. If anyone has experience with this or any idea what the problem could be that would be great.

  • Have you downloaded and installed refind? That did the trick on my old MBP in the past.

Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing its stupid.

  • Probably an obvious solution, but i just reinstalled with systemd as the bootloader instead of grub and it launches now.
