• UNOFFICIAL i3-wm iso

    Hey all!

I’m very happy to announce my UNOFFICIAL iso.

    Purposes of the iso:

    • Easy experince using i3-wm
    • Ergonomic tools (easystroke, lxsession, xfdesktop, xfce4-panel)
    • Use Archlinux+Antergos+AUR repositories
    • Offline installer (modified from Pacbang linux)
    • Cnchi installer
    • Minimum systemd load after install (internet, cups, avahi, vboxservice and sddm)
    • Use both iso/installed system as installer for others devices

    Security:

    • ClamAV installed and some basic scripts for using it
    • Firejail (Opera and Firefox are set to start using firejail, changed in /usr/share/applications)

    Games

    • Wine+Playonlinux
    • Steam

    Others

    • Oblogout for logoff
    • Zim for notes
    • Redshift for eyes confort
    • Conky manager
    • Others

    NEW VERSION - August 17th 2017
    Changes:

    1. Added a new option inside the offline installer (Keep changes made while running the iso, and also used to install from installed system like USBs to another hd or USB)
    2. Added Cnchi (everthing seems to work, i just removed the zfs support, and Antergos’ wallpapers are not installed in the new system)
    3. xed as new text editor replacing gedit (also tested leafpad and mousepad, xed is the big winner)
    4. caja as new file manager replacing pcmanfm
*pcmanfm was buggy, and caja does what i need (F3 option to split pane and “open terminal here”, also matches perfectly fine with the theme)
    5. Resolution 1280x720 not automatically at startup, you can change using $mod+p (since you can change in VB options as well) System starts with 800x600
    6. You can run both offline and cnchi installers from the installed system, that means you can spread this OS system everywhere with a USB drive :P

Thank you very much @keegan, it’s very good the way you did. When i have more time i’ll take some “printscreens” and add here, maybe a video as well about installing etc.

@fernandomaroto If you like i can provide your work also on my side: http://kamprad.net/Downloads/

@joekamprad yes please do so, i want the iso to help and give fun to people, so everybody feel free to post/upload in another places. And once again thanks for the help. By the way can you confirm if someone used the torrent? Here doens’t change, 'cause i had to put the iso again after hubic site broken my iso!! (it replaced my 1.6GB for a 12MB iso!); so i’m not sure if i have to do something else here (the direct link is working fine)…

@fernandomaroto Congratulations, after I tried it in the live version, it now has a permanent place on my SSD. I’m very impressed!!!

@bpoerwo thank you for the compliments, i hope this version gives you fun and all the Arch/Antergos stability and speed they offer.

  • @fernandomaroto I add your new torrent and was able to download, but there was no one else sharing… so it was a bit slow… I will put it asap to my download page, but today I have a huge hangover :expressionless:

  • @joekamprad i had to turn off the pc (father’s day here on Brazil), so i couldn’t check the torrent.
Maybe only posting the mediafire direct link is best, but takes something like 3 or 4 hours to upload here, i’m not sure about download speed…
Thanks for all the help, no need to hurry hehe :)
