• What are your most wanted/needed AUR packages?

    Hey all!

I want to ask you about the AUR packages that you use the most or really need in your system; since i’m willing to discover new useful programs and also can add them to my custom .iso

    Thanks!

How are you achieving this? There have been several system rescue utilities I have wanted to add to a new ISO I am creating, but have not been able to. The Antergos mkarchiso fails to install them for me:disappointed:. If you have some helpful secret, I would love to be able to put it to good use in some of the other Community ISO’s also:grinning:.

    Thanks!

Keep trying, never give up. In the end, you will find that it was all worth it

Ah yes, for now i’m trying to install after booting the liveiso directly to the new system (seems to work but need more testing). Thn i’ll have to check mkarchiso to add the commands (i’m sure nor Antergos and Arch mkarchiso can’t install them by default; maybe can’t install at all)

One little workaround if you’re interested in testing is to edit /etc/yaourtrc uncomment the line EXPORT2
    # Build
    #EXPORT=2
then every new packages compiled from yaourt will be saved in /var/cach/pacman/pkg , perhpas then mkarchiso can install them or at least you could add the packages directly to /var/cach/pacman/pkg from your liveiso.

For now i’m testing installing yaourt packages from the livecd to hd (but compiling the packages), so i don’t have more time to look more at mkarchiso file.

  • You’re going to maintain them? I don’t get what you mean with the iso thing.

In any case, I’d really want to have the Stack cloud app to be added: https://www.transip.be/stack/

I was trying to learn how to do it myself, but it’s such a cumbersome list of instructions… So much to read, my head gonna blow up!

i was expecting people to give a list of their most used AUR packages so i could test them and check what is worthy to come by default in the iso.
