• Install Argentos (Antergos) on MSI GS63VR 4k

    Dear,

I have tried to install Argentos but it systematically failed. It frozed when I choose the desktop environment (GNOME). I have read about the NVidea optimus difficulties but I cannot turn Optimus off in the BIOS. It doesn’t appear there.

Are there some fellows out there with these kind of problems and workarounds?

I would like to join Argentos.

    Sincere

  • @Ilion Hi @Ilion and welcome to Antergos.

Try to follow three links suggested by @judd. Provide their full output here.

As a bare minimum, post back the output of the command below. Do not miss any single char while typing it in:

    lspci -vnn | grep '\''[030[02]]'

    Edit

@judd Argentos sounds good but doesn’t work. An attempt to do a joke. Don’t bother. Well cared dogs. Respect.

  • So, I boot from a live USB. At some moments Antergos froze. I have tried the command

    lspci -vnn | grep '\''[030[02]]'

however, it kept on running so I never received output. I tried the command as a root user.

I cannot install Antergos because the installation keeps freezing every time using Cnchi.

So, is it simply impossible to use Antergos on this laptop?

    Regards!

It may be an iso that has been badly recorded, could change the USB stick, change the USB port, re-record the iso, anyway … can be many things.

I have installed antergos in 3 totally different portables between them xd)
