• Pacman Hooks

    Hi,

I want to create a hook in pacman for reflector, according to arch wiki, hooks are in /usr/lib/pacman/hooks or /etc/pacman.d/hooks. the .hook file in /etc overrides the hook in /usr/lib/, but i dont need any hooks dir in neither /usr/lib not in /etc/pacman.d/ , also, there’s no pacman dir in /usr/lib/ , is this okay? so should i manually create the hooks dir and .hook file in /etc/pacman.d/ or is there some other procedure?

    Thanks!
    K

edit: i dont see any hooks dir in either of the two locations.

  • Hooks included with packages installed by pacman can be found in /usr/share/libalpm/hooks. For your use case the hook should be placed in /etc/pacman.d/hooks. You’ll have to create the directory as its not created by pacman.

    Cheers!
