• no free space issue package manager.

    Hi ,
    I’m trying to install polarr photo editor a few days ago, but there is no free space on your device. Installation is not complete.
    I did a clean installation. the problem still continues.
    I think the problem is in tmp folder.

    I manually compiled .deb file on the user directory and installed it seamlessly.
    Tmp folder fills up very quickly firefox does not download and some applications fail…
    How can I solve this problem?

    I think the problem is in tmp folder.

    If you tried to build from AUR it is this for shure… You can change it by give yaourt a tmp folder inside another directory, as /tmp is handeld by tmpfs by definition, /tmpfs it’s half of your amount of RAM…

    $ sudo nano /etc/yaourtrc

    and change

    #TMPDIR="/tmp"
    TMPDIR="/home/$USER/tmp"

    where $USER is your username…

  • You can also “mask” it complete and use space on harddisk:

    edit: I solved the problem by raising the tmp size by 10GB

    sudo nano /etc/fstab

    add line

    tmpfs   /tmp         tmpfs   nodev,nosuid,size=10G          0  0
