• Failed Boot LiveCD AMD A10 9600P

    Dear,
Today I’ve downloaded Antergos 17.7 full and minimal 17.7. while try to run full Antergos, it’s only, showed blank screen.I’ve already tried with nomodeset, but kept blank.
While try run on minimal, it worked, but i couldn’t install using CnCyi.py. that stuck on choose country without on next layer.
    So totally is failed all.

How do I’m fix it ? Any,suggestion or advixe. Because I love Archlinux based.

    Notebook HP 15-ba004ax, AMD A10 9600p.

    Best regards

    qlixes

  • I don’t think it has anything to do with the AMD cpu.
I broke my system today (because I was tinkering too much) and I had a similar problem. I tried it again later and Cnchi downloaded everything.
Antergos made a big climb in the last two months according to distrowatch and though this is a good thing, the downside is that from time to time the server is very busy.
Just be patient and try again.

Very good advice and especially wait to install, when Cnchi does the corresponding update.-

  • Thanks a lot for reply, i’m still not get it about “wait patiently” ?
Do you mean using minimal for install and wait Cnchi for downloading all packages before nextstep todo ?
Unfortunely, I’ve been waited for nextstep on Cnchi for 1 hour, but never does next step (stuck on choose country), while checking my tether phone, it didn’t show any clue for down/up(load) some.
Maybe tomorrow will tryfor using DVD Drive then using USB (by rufus).
    Thanks a lot Sir.

I think @bpoerwo and @judd just mean that Antergos only has so many resources at it’s disposal and with it’s recent surge in popularity, sometimes Cnchi freezes or fails. Kind of like when a webpage gets stuck loading or crashes due to the sheer amount of people trying ot use it, which prompts an overload. Thus, it might be a good idea to just wait until a time (such as the evening) when Cnchi might not be used as much by others.

Hope this helps! (And welcome to Antergos).

If you like Antergos, we have a new forum topic called say hello, feel free to introduce yourself.

This looks like something I need to know more about…to help me get Antergos installed on my HP Pavilion posted [link text]https://forum.antergos.com/topic/7619/hp-pavillion-laptop(link url)

What is Rufus? Can I not just edit grub options from the boot menu of Antergos?

  • I am so excited, entering the above into the grub menu after quiet splash… press enter and the hard drive fired up to a white screen with the Antergos logo and the 5 dots blinking across the bottom of the logo… after a minute approx, the screen drew some funky lines across the bottom and the white screen and logo went black. Hard drive was still purring strong and in about another minute I had a black mouse pointer up on the black screen, 20 or 30 seconds later and the screen went black no mouse cursor, and the hard drive shut down. I waited a bit and nothing.

So it seems that we are on to finding a solution to beat this pig into submission. Those commands told the kernel to ignore the fact that this pig has a radeon card not to panic… I thing we are one command shy of telling the kernel to show me some gui.

I have not gotten any other distro this far in the install process except Mint 17.3 as it still had the proper amd divers by default.

I now need someone of knowledge to help me find the missing link please.

You certainly come rather close though:smile:.

and special not on AMD GPU problems, i was always omitting to use them here :(

I’m sorry then. I had no idea :(. You just seem to know about everything here, so I incorrectly assumed you would know about this one also. My sincere apologies for dragging you into this then.
