  • Hello Community,

new to the Forum. Not new to Antergos, not new to Linux. No Windows.
Linux user since 2000. First Distro was Redhat. RHL5 ( ? dont remember exactly) to RHL9 and then FC1 etc.

Im not a fan of the Arch way. In my opinion no longer Contemporary. I want the Installation straight forwards.
I’ve been using Antergos and Manjaro since the beginning

Main DE, by now, Antergos Gnome, always with recent Kernel and LTS fallback.

Thanks for the great Distro and the great Community.

And sorry for my bad English, i‘m not a native speaker.

No worries! Your English was superb and flawless. And really, there are a lot of non-native English speakers here besides yourself. One of them is even the most active and helpful member around on this Forum, @joekamprad!

Great to hear your story with Linux! See you around:grinning:.

  • Hey all, just wanted to say hello, I haven’t been a part of a Linux community since I more or less lived on the ubuntu forum because I had massive gpu driver problems on ubuntu back in like 2007. Been switching around distros since then, but I have mostly stayed on the debian based ones. Ubuntu for the most part. However I got tired of ubuntu and set out to find a new distro. I landed on Antergos after hearing so much good stuff about Arch the last decade more or less. But I found it intimidating at the same time. Installed it about two weeks ago and boy, this is the best Linux experience I have ever had. The installation couldn’t have gone smoother, and my issues that I had with ubuntu just disappeared. For the first time in I think 3 years, I don’t actually have a single issue on my computer?! Not even a tiny little detail that I could learn to live with as I have with ubuntu. Very impressed and now I’ve gotten used to pacman and yoghurt aswell (I call it yoghurt hehe).

So all in all, I decided to become a member of a linux community again, looking forward to learn more about this distro! Cheers.

  • Heyo! I meant to reply to this last night, but I’d fallen asleep. —I’m Alan, though I typically go by Schyken online. I’m typically the kind of person who will run through four or five distros in a day, but I enjoy it. I’ve been using Linux for just over two years, and I’ve been using Linux full time for just as long. My first dive into Linux was all-in. I wiped everything and installed Xubuntu first, followed by a plethora of 'buntus and Mints in the first six hours, before settling in. Quick mainline distro history; Mint was my daily driver for a good 10 months, and Manjaro served me a good 6 months after that. Manjaro is what gravitated me toward Arch and Arch-based systems. I was hesitant at first to try Antergos, as it didn’t offer me anything I didn’t already have. But then I got curious, and it’s a good thing I did. I started to really like Antergos the more I used it, and now here I am, after installing Antergos some hundredth time last night, running Antergos KDE. I typically like the GNOME variant, but I’ve found that I’m quite happy with all the Antergos variants because they’re all set up in reliable and sane ways, including defaults. Btw, I’m super keen to try Antergos Deepin 😎

It's like food for the soul, but it's a drink for the body.

Thanks! I wish you the best of experiences:grinning:. While my Deepin ISO caters more to Deepin, it also offers all of the Antergos Experimental DEs in Cnchi as well, such as LXQT, Budgie, and Enlightenment… if you wish to give them a try also ;).

And welcome to the Forum! If you have any problems, issues, comments, or suggestions regarding my ISO, just let me know here.

    Good luck!
