• Install packages in a different path or a fake filesystem

    Hi! Can i do that?
For example if i want to install gedit or whatever in /tmp/test instead of installing in / (following the tree as /usr /etc etc etc) in a way that will create all it’s folders as a fake filesystem inside /tmp/test.

That way it would create /usr /etc and other stuff inside /tmp/test

    It’s hard to explain :p

  • Just out of curiosity, would this have anything to do with your ISO project? (making configs to the ISO that persist after installing, I think it was). Whatever your project was, I remember thinking it sounded really useful!

(and sadly, I have no idea as to how to help you:disappointed: sorry.)

Keep trying, never give up. In the end, you will find that it was all worth it

  • @Keegan Yes a little, you can just copy/paste packages files into pacbang squashfilesystem and they’ll work in the liecd and will be copied to the installed system (not sure yet how the config files work)

Also i’d like to see better the packages and know more about their file structure.

I guess i can extract the package installer for now and make some script for “mass extracting” them

That is amazing! I don’t really know how to help you, but I wish you the best of luck:grinning:.

I think it should as a first step, install Pacbang first and then change the repos and packages of Antergos, I may be wrong, I do not know

  • @judd Hi!
I have a modification that install pacbang with Antergos repos, it’s working already! I also managed to put packages into it.
The point is if i want to add much more packages how to do it faster and more efficiently.
